Improvement grants of up to £2,500 are available to support more sustainable transport infrastructure at your workplace.
SMEs based in Liverpool (who are eligible) can apply for a grant up to £2,500 and for micro SMEs (those with less than 10 members of staff) grants of up to £500 will be available. We will also consider joint bids from more than one business to deliver larger projects.
The grant can be used to fund a single project or as a contribution towards a larger initiative. The funding can be used to pay for physical measures to support cycling, walking, public transport and simply reducing the need to travel as part of your travel action plan.
The following are examples of initiatives which would be eligible for funding, but it is not exhaustive and you might have ideas for other projects which we can discuss:
- Lockers for use by those cycling or walking to work
- Cycle parking/storage and facilities including CCTV on cycle storage
- Pool cycles and equipment
- Upgrade of existing cycle shelter or new bike shelter facility
Eligibility Criteria
As part of the process we will require all applicants to complete a simple Staff Travel Survey which will help both you and us to assess your application. The survey will provide information on how your staff currently travel to work and what incentives or improvements might encourage them to use sustainable transport as opposed to single car use.
We will help you draw up a Travel Action Plan which is simply a short list of measures that you could implement to promote sustainable travel by staff.
Both of the above will provide evidence to support your application.
Grants will be paid in arrears of actual expenditure and the applicant will be responsible for obtaining quotes, issuing the work and ensuring that it is completed to a satisfactory standard.
